With only three days remaining in the 2nd Annual Athletics Alumni Participation Challenge, Volleyball has continued its incredible giving effort to assume a lead in all three Challenge categories. The program, which saw only 15% of former student-athletes give last year, has received support from 41% of all alumni, including all seven members of the Class of 2017, thanks to a concerted effort of peer outreach by the Volleyball Alumni Advisory Board.
Other highlights in the Challenge include:
- An incredible 61% giving rate from the men's and women's lacrosse young alumni .
- Since the Challenge launched on June 1, the overall participation rate of all athletics alumni has grown 4%.
- 22% of all former athletes have given to at least one of their former sports this year. This metric is up 2% already from last year.
- Already, 10 Friends programs have 20% overall giving or greater, while at least four more have an opportunity to join that group before the end of the week. Last year, only nine programs reached 20% or greater in overall participation.
